Dacker Thicke was born in 1924 in the frozen Canadian northlands. He is the senior member of the famous Thicke family. He was raised on the famous ‘mile of gold’ in the mining town of Kirkland Lake, a town built on the hopes and dreams of thousands of pioneers and prospectors. Once considered the town’s ‘bad boy’, at sixteen the author finagled himself into the army at the start of World War II, and spent five and a half years ahead of the front lines in Europe. Growing up in the middle of a war, he earned himself the Military Medal (MM) – and a reputation for being the guy who could find anything anywhere: a reconnaissance man extraordinaire.

After the war, his adventures continued, most recently leading him to spend the better part of a decade in a tropical paradise, the Mexican fishing village of Boca de Tomatlàn. Dacker Thicke now lives in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. He has two grown children – a daughter, Lori and a son, Brad – who he raised as a single father. He also has one grandson, Farrell. Dacker Thicke is the author of Piper to the Rear, Unique and Outrageous, Atoll Haven and Life Giver Life Taker. He is currently working on a screenplay of his novella, Flying Blind.
